Out in the Big Pond . . .

Pierce, James, Jack, Rónán, Callum, Stephen and Jack were chosen to represent the National Children's Choir in a performance at the closing ceremony of 'Féilte' on Saturday in the Royal Hospital Kilmainham. The boys received a standing ovation and lots of extremely positive tweets from those attending the conference. The director of the Teacher's Council was "blown away by the performance" and tweeted "National Children's choir are fantastic- they've hushed the room". We are delighted that our boys were chosen to perform at this prestigious event.

In the centre of the triptych are Jake and Conor from Ms. Beatty's class. Jake's cousin (Gavin Gunning) plays with Dundee Utd and Jake recently acted as team mascot and had his name and photo in the programme. Conor won gold medal for Karate in the Clondalkin championships.

On the right are John Patrick and Michael whose photo (with JP's Dad) appeared in the Irish Angler. J.P. and Michael both caught whopping big trout on a recent fishing trip to County Wicklow.

Infants on School Tour

No, not that type of school tour - too early in the year! Ms. Devenney's boys took a tour of the school examining all of the highpoints along the way - the school garden, the new astro yard, the trees and of course Mr. Lynch's office.

Gaelic Football

The Gaelic football season is well and truly in swing for St. Pius X BNS, with 3 Junior Teams (Green, Navy and White) competing in the Cumann na mBunscol - a first for our school!!
Pictured is the Junior Navy team with manager Ms. Smith, fresh from a victory over local rivals St. Joesph's yesterday (Tuesday 24th). A tight game with only 4 points separating the sides at the final whistle.
Our Senior Navy team plays away to Lucan on Thursday in the second of its league games. Here's hoping for another successful year for all involved.

Junior Infants Make a Start

New Surface on Back Yard

An all weather surface was fitted on the back yard over the summer. Many thanks to all who helped with the fund raising, especially those who participated in the Wicklow Way walk in May.
