Swimming News

Congratulations to all the boys who represented our school with distinction at the Leinster minor swimming championships on Saturday the 10th of January. They competed in events that ranged from 50m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 50m butterfly, 50m freestyle and not to mention the 4x50m medley and freestyle relay! Templeogue swimming club kindly provided their facilities for training.
All the swimmers competed brilliantly on the day with Conor W winning three gold medals (50m Butterfly, 50m freestyle, and 200m freestyle relay) what a fantastic achievement. The Boys u12 relay team who consisted of Sean, Ronan, Conor K and Conor W won gold and bronze in the 200m freestyle and 200m medley relay. Well done boys you performed fantastically. Rory, Stephen, Kevin and Stephen represented our school in the u12 freestyle relay with great effort and finished 4th. Conor K also won silver in the u11 50m fly with Ronan picking up a bronze in the 50m free.

Our Power Hour

Power Maths continues this term with Ms. Mooney's class. This activity based approach to mathematics is currently focused on the area of Fractions. Both 1st and 2nd classes are currently being targeted and already the benefits can be seen. Following an examination of results before and after Power Maths, huge increases in pupil understanding were observed in one of our 1st classes. This initiative, headed by our school's Numeracy Coordinator Mr. Ryan, is one of the many ways the school's support teachers assist classes in the school.
