A great team of Pius swimmers proudly represented Pius X at the inaugural Willow Park Gala at Blackrock College on Wednesday. The competition was strong from Willow Park, St. Conleths and Dulich Prep school from London. Our boys were not fazed and got great PBs along with 4 individual medals (Conor and Cillian ) the individual medly team got a fantastic silver medal in a very close race. So well done boys all bodes well for the contiued success and strength of our St Pius X swimming team.

Poem Alex O'Dowd

Our resident poet, Alex O'Dowd, has penned these lines about his family. We're already looking forward to his Seussical review in verse:

My Family

There are seven in my family, we have lots of fun each day,
Our favourite sport is swimming, and we like to play and play.

I have a little brother, he's very very small,
He always tries to walk and he always tries to crawl.

I have another brother, his name is James O'Dowd,
He's very good at rugby and he's very very proud.

My name is Alex and I'm the oldest in the clan,
I'm very good at football and I'm a Liverpool fan.

I have a little brother, he's always on the run,
He eats lots of bananas and he's loads and loads of fun.

I have a little sister, she likes the colour pink,
She always eats noodles and she likes playing at the sink.

Ms. Kennedy's boys thought it would be nice to draw some teacher portraits. Emissaries were sent throughout the school to sit in each teacher's class and draw a portrait. Hmmmm . . . what do you think?? Just as well our múinteoirí aren't too sensitive!!

Pius boys were well represented on the podium with Erwan (5th Class - 1st place), Seán (5th Class - 2nd place), Michael (6th Class - 2nd place), Gavin (6th Class - 4th), David and Ben(6th Class - 5th place) and Sam and Lorcan (6th Class - 6th place). Even more impressive was the fact that all boys completed the race!
