Two Hat-Tricks

Our senior hurlers won the Annual South Dublin Pre-Season Tournament for the third year in a row yesterday. In a nail-biting final in blustery conditions, we defeated near neighbours St. Joseph’s Terenure 4:04 to 4:02. A special mention to our hat-trick hero Luke McNiff who was one of the outstanding players on the day.

The soccer team had their first cup game on Friday in Whelan Park where they comprehensively beat Donabate-Portrane ETNS 6 - 0 . The boys showed excellent teamwork, skills and determination in achieving this win. Hugh O Neill scored a hat-trick, Joe Plunkett bagged a brace with Joshua Walker sealing the victory with the final goal. 16 boys played a part in the win so it was a terrific team performance with all subs playing a vital role. We look forward to the next game already!

Dia dhaoibh ar maidin,
Mar is eol daoibh, is í seachtain na Gaeilge an tseachtain seo.
Is féidir linn a lan Gaeilge a labhairt nó do chúpla focail a úsáideann.
Ceapaim gurb í an Ghaeilge an teanga is tabhachtaí inár dtír.

Confirmation Day in St. Pius

Saturday with Bishop Eamonn Walsh proved to be a wonderful day for our sixth class boys. Although it was cold, the sun shone and everyone was in great form. The ceremony was very beautiful, helped to no small degree by the boys' school choir whose singing added so much to the occasion. Well done to Confirmation teachers Mr. Glynn and Mr. Dillon, and the choir team, Ms. Carroll, Ms. Redmond, Mr Geraghty, Ms. Brogan, Ms McWeeeney, Ms. Maxwell and Ms. Robinson.

School News

Matthew (Ms. Redmond's Class) shows part of the lovely book he wrote and illustrated while Leo displays the rapper he fashioned from clay. Meanwhile, in Ms. Crosbie's fourth class . . . . Stephen, the owner of Foam Coffeehouse, came in yesterday so the boys could interview him in preparation for their science exhibition at the RDS this week. They found out lots of useful information that we can use for their project on Thursday!
