Message from the Principal
As Principal of St. Pius X BNS, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our school’s website which provides a snapshot of the myriad of different activities that take place in our school every day. It gives an insight into the wonderful opportunities that are afforded to the children who attend St Pius X BNS.
Our school is a vertical one (Junior Infants to 6th Class) providing education to over 530 boys. Our staff is 42 strong - talented, enthusiastic and professional people who place the interests of our pupils at the centre of everything they do. In addition to our teachers, Special Needs Assistants, secretary and caretaker, we are supported by an amazing Parents' Association and the wider Templeogue parish community. The school is governed by a dedicated group of volunteers in the form of our Board of Management. The Board, under the patronage of the Archbishop of Dublin, is headed by Mr. Ronan McMahon who has worked on behalf of the school for the last 20 years.
We are all extremely proud of our pupils and are constantly amazed by their abilities and talents. We will endeavour to continue to nurture and develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the world around them.
We look forward to what the future will bring for our community and are sure St. Pius X BNS will continue to be a caring, welcoming and supportive school for many years to come.
Le gach dea ghuí,

St. Pius X BNS is a Catholic school. We place a strong emphasis on academic achievement and, at the same time, we endeavour to promote the full and harmonious development of all aspects of the child: spiritual, cultural, physical and moral. Our policy is the pursuit of excellence across a whole range of activities, academic, artistic and sporting.
We welcome children of all races, creeds and abilities. We have a very positive policy on integration whereby all children are given an equal opportunity to achieve their full potential.
Our school has a pleasant and happy working atmosphere and we encourage everyone in the school community to contribute.
At present the school community consists of 542 children, 31 teachers and 9 special needs assistants under the principalship of Mr. Lorcan Coyle.
The school crest (top left of your screen) is an ornate representation of the name of the school. The school colours consist mainly of grey and navy with the school tie highlighting the crest colours.
