This week, 5th class had a visit from Garda Brendan. He showed them how important science is during Garda investigations. The boys got the opportunity to dress up as Gardaí, and complete a mock investigation. Using fingerprint testing, they were able to identify the culprit, and solve the crime!

As part of World War 1 research, 6th class students took a hands-on approach to understanding life on the front lines. The boys worked together to build replica trenches, learning about the harsh conditions soldiers faced during the war. They also wrote letters home from the perspective of soldiers in the trenches, capturing the emotions, hopes, and challenges of life

Ms. Mcweeney’s senior infants have had a busy week in the St. Pius Cafe. They have been making aprons, taking orders, making food, writing recipes, creating menus and even made their own funny face cookies. Unfortunately, the cafe is closed on Saturdays as the boys don’t work weekends.

There were spooky sights and smiling faces all around the school today as everyone got into the Halloween spirit! Each class came to school dressed in their amazing costumes — from Santa and Ms. Claus handing out cookies to superheroes, skeletons, and storybook characters.
