Our senior hurlers got off to a great start to the season with a well deserved win over our near neighbours St. Joesph’s BNS in the South Dublin Hurling tournament. Thanks to Terenure College for providing the venue. Mr. Faherty and the team now prepare for the Cumann na mBunscol leagues which begin after Easter.

The boys in Ms. Stewart’s class and girls from Ms. Dennedy’s class came together last week for the annual St. Pius X NS Teddy Bear Picnic. Unfortunately the weather was poor so everyone was inside but you can see by the pictures a great time was had.

What’s rare is wonderful. Friday turned out to be out of the ordinary with the falling of snow from morning to lunch. While the boys didn’t get outside for break time, teachers couldn’t resist the chance to have fun with the snow. Here’s some photos of our Wonderful White Pius.

Ms. O’Neill’s Junior Infants discussed the steps to make Jelly. Once all were agreed, they decided to put the steps into practice and make the Jelly. No wobbles here, it all went perfectly! . . .and of course, if you are going to eat jelly, you really ought to have ice-cream!!

Well done to our Soccer teams who were in action at the FAI 5-a-side blitz in Balgaddy, Lucan on Thursday. The competition was extremely tough and the huge number of games played required focus, energy and consistency! One of our two teams entered succeeded in winning the overall tournament and will now go forward to the Dublin Finals in April.

Tadhg, Fiach, Eoghan, Cillian and Kevin all competed in the ‘All Ireland Primary Schools Badminton Finals’ out in Baldoyle. The boys played three highly competitive schools and a combined total of six entertaining matches. The boys played against Raphoe Central (Co. Donegal), Scoil Phádraig Naofa (Co. Over 250 boys from 3rd to 6th headed off to Terenure College to take part in the annual Cross Country Race series. With over 10 schools present there was a very high standard on show as boys competed in races between 700m and 1000m. We had a number of medalists on the day, most notably Jack in third class who
