The Pius X golf team competed yesterday in the Castle Golf Cup in Rathfarnham. After a number of weeks of practices in the Grange golf club, the boys were eager to go and played a great game. Our hurler had a great victory yesterday in the semi- final of the Corn Marino, earning themselves a coveted place in the final in Croke Park. The final will be on next Wednesday June 8th, time to be determined. Well done to the boys and teachers Mr. Dillon and Mr. Faherty.

Well done to Karl in Mr. Geraghty’s class who played for Dublin at half time in the Leinster Football final. Karl gave a fine display, like the seniors did and managed to score a few points. Hopefully we will see Karl lining out for the senior in a few years time.

Saturday was a very special day in the Pius X Community as the boys from 2nd and 3rd class made their first Holy Communion. On a sun soaked day, close to 120 boys made the sacrament. As is the tradition in St. Pius X BNS, the boys in Ms. Redmond’s and Mr. Geraghty’s classes came together in the Secret Garden to decide on a charity in which they would make a contribution to, using money they received for the confirmation. Boys are given the opportunity to nominate a charity which is important to them. The boys

Michael and Odhran in Ms. Mooney’s Senior Infants paid a visit to Mr. Coyle this week. Thankfully it was for all the right reasons. The boys were working super hard the last few weeks and earned a reward. Well done boys!

Ms. Mooney’s boys were over the moon this week as they got to bring in their favourite teddy for a teddy bear picnic. The sun shone down on the boys as they chilled on the yard and told their friends all about their prized possessions.

Cody from Mr Faherty’s class competed recently in the ‘Gymnastics Ireland U10 All Ireland event.  He competed against other boys from all over the country and did exceptionally well to finish on the podium with a bronze medal!! It may be a bit of a stretch, but an important part of our Well Being Week is Yoga. The boys have been taking time out of their work to practice mindfulness and finding their inner chii practicing the different yoga poses. Thanks to our resident instructor Ms. Gallagher who has been teaching the boys across the school.

The boys in Ms. O’ Neill’s class took a break from all the hard work to practice their breathing and blow bubbles in the yard. The boys concentrated real hard to make the biggest bubbles they could. Very therapeutic!
