Our Jubilee run took place on Monday last in Terenure College. Over 120 boys from 5th and 6th class took part in the long distance cross country run around the grounds of Terenure College. Our champion on the day, who pulled away in the end. A deserving winner, Adam in Mr. Geraghty’s class lifted the cup for the second time.

The boys in Ms .O’Dell’s and Mr.Finnegan’s 3rd class have been taking part in the first ever 3rd class soccer tournament! There were 46 boys involved and the tournament lasted 5 weeks with the finals being held this morning. Man United vs Arsenal was the final deciding match. Mr Curtin’s 4th class have been recently working hard on history projects. The topics the boys had to choose from were; ‘The History of the GAA’, ‘The Space Race’, ‘The History of Terenure’, ‘The History of Video Games’ or ‘The Normans in Ireland.’   After researching their chosen topic, the boys complied their information either on PowerPoint, in a scrapbook

Our Junior Infants had their first school tour last Friday. The fun began with the boys taking their first class trip on a bus. It only got better from here and the boys had a great day in Glenroe Farm, as you can see from the pictures.

For their final school tour, the 6th class boys went to Emerald Park on Friday last. A great day was had by all with the freedom to roam the theme park. Thankfully the queues were not too bad. Unlike there teachers, there was no fear among the boys with the Viking Splash, Dino Dash and of course the Cú Chulainn

The boys in 5th class headed off last Tuesday to the National Sports Campus to undertake a very active school tour. The tour gave the boys a number of opportunities to try all the sports of our Olympians. A great day was had by all and the boys were particularly tired on the way home.

Eileen Warren, our schools’ psychologist is retiring shortly from National Educational Psychological Service. Eileen has helped so many of our pupils and always arrives to St Pius X BNS with a smile. We will really miss her advice and support and wish her well in retirement.
