The boys in Ms. O’ Sullivan’s class have been busy in history studying the famine. After a week of research and activities, the boys completed very impressive projects and presented to the class. Well done to the boys.
Jake from Ms. Dunne’s 2nd Class was lucky enough to meet Liverpool FC legendary Champions League winner Steven Gerrard last weekend. Steven spotted Jake wearing his Liverpool kit and called him over to take a picture.
Hurling has returned for the boys in 5th and 6th class with 54 boys training in Terenure College last Tuesday. The boys are preparing for the Cumann na mBunscol Leagues which begin after Easter. Every year on March 21st, people all around the world come together to celebrate World Down Syndrome Day by wearing brightly coloured, mismatched socks. Well done to our school soccer team who had a great win over St. Kevin’s Kilnamanagh yesterday in Larkview. The league is well underway and the boys are training hard. Our 5 a side teams too are in action next week as they head to Wayside Celtic for the FAI 5 a Side tournament.
John the wood turner made his annual visit to St. Pius X and introduced the boys in 3rd, 4th and 5th class to the world of woodturning and carpentry. 7 boys from 4th and 6th class had an interesting experience yesterday when they were ball boys at the Ireland V Japan U19s rugby match in Terenure College. The boys had a great day and even got to talk to some of the players. Well done lads.
Jamie in Ms.O’Dell’s 3rd class had a very active weekend. He was competing in a ‘Just Run 2023’ 5-kilometre run which took place in Kildare on Sunday. It was his first long distance run, and he came in 2nd place! Congratulations Jamie!
