Over the past few weeks, the boys in 6th class have been learning about The Good Friday Agreement in Northern Ireland. They had a very special visitor come speak to them about it on Wednesday. Tim Dalton was the Secretary General of the Department of Justice and Equality during the signing of the Good Friday Agreement and played a key role in the negotiations and planning that led to its success. He spoke to the boys about the massive amount of work and compromise that went on to ensure that we would have a lasting peace on our island. He had some great stories for the boys and gave them a brilliant insight into some huge figures in Irish and British History. It was truly something that staff and students alike will remember forever! Here he is pictured with his grandson Luke from Mr. Geraghty’s class as well as Matt, Jamie and Liam from the student council.
