Pupils from Rang a Cúig and Rang a Sé gathered at the front of the school this morning to commemorate 175 years since Thomas Meagher created our national flag. The older boys were joined by Sebastian and Benjamin (from Senior Infants and 2nd Class respectively). The boys are directly descended from Thomas Meagher and told the classes about their connection. The flag was then raised by Sergeant JJ (!) and we all sang our national anthem.
