Ailbe in Ms. Pleamonn’s class was presented with this certificate by Libraries Ireland for reading over 20 books this summer. The programme ‘Summer Stars’ encourages boys and girls to read each summer. Ailbe kept up the reading all summer and was a worthy winner.

  Potions and spells are being made this month in the Witch’s Den which is our Aistear topic . We have witches as cooks in the Witch’s Cafe serving interesting potions and drinks to customers! We are also using our design skills in building our own spooky houses . Painting spooky skies and using our Play-Doh to make spooky creatures

Ms Pleamonn’s 3rd Class are researching their family trees at the moment. The boys are tracing their roots and completing projects. Jamie uncovered some very interesting facts about his great great grandfather. Frank McCormack was a soldier in 1916 and Jamie brought in his gun belt that he wore during the rising. It is over 100 years old!! Jamie also

The annual Faughs community project awards night took place last night in the Faugh’s clubhouse. Boys from 5th class completed projects last year showing the great link between the school and club. Special guest on the night was Dublin Hurling manager Mattie Kenny who answered questions, posed for photos and most importantly told the boys what qualities he looks for

The boys in Ms Stewart’s Junior Infants have been very busy the last few weeks working on their fine motor skills. Using loads of fun resources, the boys have mastered many new skills which will help them during there time in St. Pius X.

The boys in Ms. Gallagher’s Junior Infants are loving Aistear. The theme at the moment is ‘dinner time’ and as we know everybody loves dinner time! Through play, the boys have been exploring and experiencing all the elements of meal time at home and are learning how to express themselves and their thoughts about meal time.

Our Junior Infants have started their sporting journey in St Pius X with our football coach Kevin from Templeogue Synge Street. Each week boys will learn the fundamental skills of Gaelic football in a fun, friendly environment. We are very greatly to TSS for this support and look forward to more classes fine tuning their skills.

Over the summer, St Pius X gained a valuable new room. Thanks to the funding raised by our Parents Association, our  new sensory room was completed and ready in time for the school reopening. After two weeks use, it is a big hit with the boys who love the calming break from the sometimes hectic school life.

On Saturday last, we welcomed back the boys of 6th class to celebrate their postponed confirmation. On what was a lovely sunny day, there was smiles all round as boys got to catch up with their friends. Chief celebrant Fr. Gerry delivered a lovely ceremony which was enjoyed by all. Whether they are playing with farm animals, building sky scrapers with blocks or solving puzzles with tangrams, the boys in Ms O Neill’s Junior Infants have worked hard in their first week in ‘Big School’ doing loads of fun activities. The boys have settled in as if they have been in St Pius X for years!
