Moments like these remind us how important it is to create opportunities for children to mix, build confidence, and support one another. We were delighted to welcome the Green Schools Adjudicator to our school to evaluate the wonderful work of our Green Schools Committee. The boys made amazing presentations and spoke confidently about all the hard work they have been doing. 2nd Class had a wonderful time holding their very own Winter Olympics. The children showed great creativity by making ski figures using tin foil and lollipop sticks. Each figure was unique and ready to compete. We organised a round-by-round competition to decide who would reach the final. After lots of exciting match ups, the final came down to USA versus

The boys in senior infants have had so much fun leaning about Croke Park while staying active as part of the active school’s challenge. From pretending to lift the Sam Maguire on the steps of the Hogan stand to learning about clubs all over the world from the club wall, the fun was endless.

 Congratulations to Alex Searson from Ms. O’Dell’s 2nd Class, who achieved an amazing result at the Scottish Open Championships in Irish Dancing held in Glasgow this weekend. Alex placed 3rd overall in his Under 10 category, a fantastic achievement after lots of hard work, practice, and dedication. Well done Alex!

The Credit Union Interschool Quiz 2026 took place last Friday evening (6th February). The Green Schools Committee have been working hard trying to encourage recycling and cutting down on our landfill waste in school. They organised a ‘No Waste Wednesday’ day in school on the 28th January whereby everyone in school was encouraged to recycle as much as possible and put as little as possible into the landfill bin. Our infant classes welcomed Grandparents on Tuesday for the first time ever! It was a lovely morning when we got to talk to our grandparents and show them all our amazing work. Thanks to our Student Council who acted as ushers and for Fr. Pat for having a prayer service in the GP room after our grandparents visited the classrooms.
