The Green Schools Committee have been working hard trying to encourage recycling and cutting down on our landfill waste in school. They organised a ‘No Waste Wednesday’ day in school on the 28th January whereby everyone in school was encouraged to recycle as much as possible and put as little as possible into the landfill bin. Our infant classes welcomed Grandparents on Tuesday for the first time ever! It was a lovely morning when we got to talk to our grandparents and show them all our amazing work. Thanks to our Student Council who acted as ushers and for Fr. Pat for having a prayer service in the GP room after our grandparents visited the classrooms.

Ms. Devenney’s class took learning to new heights this week as students created and launched their own model rockets while studying the solar system. After exploring how planets orbit the sun and how rockets travel through space, students worked in teams to design, build, and decorate their own rockets.

Ms Carroll’s third class have taken beating the January Blues very literally! They have been exploring the concept of Timbre during their music lessons by tapping, shaking and beating various percussion instruments!
