Donagh in Ms. Mooney’s 1st class was at the launch of his Grandad’s photographic exhibition at the LexIcon in Dun Laoghaire last Wednesday, 8th March. Former Minister of Education and current Mayor of Dun Laoghaoire – Rathdown Mary Hannifin launched the Exhibition and you’ll see Donagh wearing her chain of office…. over his Pius X tracksuit.

Brothers Niall and Alistair went to watch the Irish rugby team train in the Aviva Stadium last Thursday before their last two big matches. They got to meet a number of players, including Johnny Sexton and Jack Conlon to name a few. The boys even managed to get some autographs!

6th class soccer has returned for the boys in Mr. Smyths’s and Mr. Geraghty’s classes with coach John Sullivan coming in and sharing his experience. Coach Sullivan is a former league of Ireland player and the boys are looking forward to polishing up their skills before the leagues begin.

Joel in Mr. Curtin’s class had a successful weekend winning this lovely soccer cup at a blitz. Joel is looking forward to getting to 6th class where he will be able to show his soccer skills for the schools soccer team.

After a dusting of snow last night. St. Pius X was a winter wonderland for the boys this morning. There might not have been enough to keep the doors shut but there is definitely enough to have fun. The boys are making the most of it, getting out with their teachers. Sure it doesn’t happen too often!! Have a look

Ms Gallagher’s boys have had great fun celebrating ‘World Book day’. The boys brought in their favourite book to read to their friends and they even completed book reviews. Then we explored the Genre of comic books and the boys became authors and created their own comic strips.

Mr Curtin’s ‘big boys’ came to Ms O’Neill’s Senior Infants to enjoy some shared reading for World Book Day. Both classes were so well behaved and really enjoyed the time together. Mr.  Curtin and his boys promised to come visit again soon!
