Before Christmas, St. Pius X BNS held a battery drive to help recycle old used batteries. The collection was done in collaboration with WEEE Ireland and Laura Lynn. There was an unbelievable amount of batteries collected, 22 boxes which equates to over 50 Kg of batteries. Thanks to all the classes who helped make the collection a success, especially Ms.

The boys in Mr. Kealy’s and Mr. Curtin’s class are in for a treat this term as they undertake 10 weeks of Lego engineering. For the first week the boys made motorised cars and as you can see they really enjoyed themselves.

Mr. Réamonn met the Junior and Senior Quiz teams who will go and compete in the Credit Union Quiz in Colmcilles’ SNS, Knocklyon on 27th Jan. The boys were selected after finishing top in their age group in Mr Reamonn’s weekly Whizz Quizzes. Best of luck to these boys who will represent the school!

The boys in Ms. O Sullivan’s class have been working collaboratively since before Christmas on a project looking at space. Each group completed their own research on an element of the Solar System and then came together to make one big project. The boys then presented their part to the class.

Carter in Ms. Herity’s 1st class has been working very hard at his Karate this year and just before Christmas he got his orange belt- WOW! He is already aiming for his next belt which is the red one. Watch out!
