The boys in 6th class have been participating in a morning soccer league which has run from Halloween. Unfortunately the final of the league had to be postponed before Christmas due to the freezing weather and then lack of light. The final, between St. Patrick’s Athletic and Sligo Rovers took place last week and after a thrilling affair, it ended honours even at 4-4. It would be decided by penalties. With pressure building, the penalty shootout took place after lunch with Sligo Rovers coming out on top, winning 8-7 on penalties. Well done to the 50 boys who took part in the morning leagues.
