Fabion in Ms. O’Connor’s class comes away with a silver medal with his volleyball team KVC Dublin. The Kildare competition consisted on 16 teams, Fabion and his teammates got all the way to  the finals before being narrowly beaten. Well done Fabion!

The boys in Ms. Stewart’s class had a blast in PE this week as the Magical Ms. Goddard taught them all about gymnastics. As you can see from the pictures, this was no amateur performance but instead a professional masterclass from our Senior Infant boys. Well done to our future gymnasts and thanks as always for really challenging the boys

Ms. Weeney’s junior infant boys learned all about solids and liquids today. Then they investigated what happens when chocolate is heated. They also accidentally discovered what happens when chocolate gets too hot. Nothing goes to waste in St. Pius X so the boys used their melted chocolate to make chocolate covered marshmallows. Yum!

Adam in 6th class was successful recently in the Dublin U13 Long Jump Championships in the National Sports Campus. With an impressive winning jump of 4.43m, we look forward to Adam taking part in school events in the next few months and hopefully bringing home more medals.

Our tennis lessons have returned today for the new term for the boys in Senior Infants and 2nd class. The boys will learn loads of fun tennis skills with our coach Stephen.

The boys in Ms. O Sullivan’s class created some very impressive rockets as part of their recent science lessons. The boys had great fun looking at different designs and had a special launch on the infant yard. Well done boys.

The Annual Terenure College Cross Country took place in a sunny Terenure College today. All boys from 3rd to 6th competed in  races against a number of schools from the area. While we were over the moon that everyone tried their hardest on this track, we also had a number of medal winners across the class, most notably Aaron in

Ahead of St. Brigid’s Day, the boys in St. Pius X have been learning all about St. Brigid and her traditions. The boys in Ms. Hunts class made some St. Brigid’s crosses using some good strong Galway rushes. The boys weaved some lovely designs in their crosses.

The boys in Ms. Pleamonn’s class worked really hard recently on their first piece of project work. The chosen topic was storms and in particular the big storm of 1947. Very apt given our recent weather. Mr. Coyle was particularly impressed with the 2nd class work. Peadar brought his project up to Mr. Coyle’s office to show him his excellent

A number of our 4th class boys got the opportunity to play at half time of the Dublin Mayo game last weekend with their team in Templeogue Synge Street. It was the first time the boys got to play in our national stadium and we hope that it won’t be the last time as our hurling season in St. Pius
