Last week, for the first time in 3 years, the boys held face to face class assemblies. The assemblies are a great way to acknowledge the work classes are doing while also reminding the boys about a few important things around the school. Mr. Reamonn, who organised the assemblies also told the boys about two new initiatives he is starting.

Charlie in Ms. Gallagher’s class has been learning about Italy this week as he prepares to make the trip to Rome to support Ireland on Sunday. Charlie has his poster ready and has assured us all that Ireland is going to win.

The boys in Ms. O’Kelly’s class were busy in the kitchen yesterday as they prepared their pancakes for the big day. The boys practiced their flipping skills before serving up delicious pancakes.

The boys in Ms Devenney’s class  had fun recently researching  projects on Neil Armstrong which were  all excellent. Following that, they had the challenge of building a rocket and as you can see from the pictures the challenge was greatly accepted. The boys outdone themselves with the designs and materials they used. A little credit also goes to parents and

The boys in Ms. O Neill’s Senior Infants have been very busy in Aistear the last week covering the topic of sport. The boys had great fun and really expressed their creative side.

The boys in Ms. Stewart’s class have been working very hard this week with their math’s and English. The boys were working in small groups doing stations learning loads of new things.

On Friday, the boys in Ms. Herity’s First Class visited Ms. O’Kelly’s Junior Infants to read them stories…some of which the First Class boys had written themselves! The boys really enjoyed themselves and hope to visit again.

Before Christmas, 5th class took part in the Dublin Lions Club Peace Poster competition. The theme was ‘Lead with Compassion’ and entrants had to submit a poster that tried to represent that theme. Our school’s overall winner was Tom Meade who was put forward for the All Ireland competition. Our runners up were Luke McGrath, James Barnes and Donnacha Cronin.

Ms. O’Kelly’s boys have gone wild. They have been learning about wild animals in Aistear and making didgeridoos for art. Axel brought in a real didgeridoo and played it for the class.

The boys in Ms. Mooneys also got the opportunity to make St. Brigid’s crosses on Wednesday thanks to a generous parent who supplied the rushes. The were lovely strong green rushes which suggest they could be from somewhere like Roscommon or Leitrim. The boys also got help from Mr. Geraghty’s 6th class who were on hand to get them aCROSS
