It’s Maths Week in St Pius X  and boys from Junior infants to 6th class have been completing math’s activities inside and outside the classroom. The boys in Junior and Senior infants have been completing a Maths Shape Trail around the infant yards. The boys had great fun identifying the shapes and recording their answers. Logan in Mr. Cunningham’s class has been exploring gravity during his club with Ms Carroll. He created this super parachute from a bin bag and some string. Mr. Smyth just happened to be on the roof and helped launch the parachute from a height. Thankfully everyone landed safely. Well done Logan!

Fionn, Aaron and Jonah in 3rd class had a busy weekend. The boys competed for Templeogue Athletics club in the U10 Cross Country race at the National Sports Campus in Abbotstown. The boys finished the 1km track in the top 10 which earned them a medal for their great efforts. Aaron and Jonah,  Ms Pleamonn’s Fionn,  Mr Finnegan’s Well done

Ms. Gallagher’s boys worked with their superhero partners to complete phonics activities. They worked so well, taking turns to make and write words and then sounded them out to see if they were real/nonsense words. Teamwork makes the dream work!

The boys in Ms. Pleamonn’s and Mr. Finnegan’s 3rd classes have been investigating their family histories. There was some great discoveries in both classes as the boys traced back through the generations. Some boys got back as far as their Great Great Great Grandparents!!

This weekend our communion class of 2019/20 (now in 4th) will finally get to make their sacrament of First Holy Communion.
