Our 3rd class boys were our resident historians this week as they held exhibition days with a range of very old and rare artefacts. The boys told their classes about their interesting objects before putting on a display for the other classes who called to visit and quizzed them on their authenticity. Junior infants had a brilliant day at Glenroe farm. Luckily the weather brightened up and all the animals came out to say hello. The boys rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in, holding, petting and feeding some of the animals. The boys in 4th class were under pressure in the kitchen this week as they made some dishes with Keri. The boys are learning some delicious life skills as well as how to prepare food and meals safely. Thankfully, after all the hard work, the boys get to enjoy the product of their endeavors. Faughs GAA Club are hosting their annual Community Schools Project Night this Thursday 12th June at 7:30pm. All 4th class boys who took part designing a logo to celebrate 140 years of Faughs GAA are welcome to attend on the night. Awards will be presented by William Maher, National Head of Hurling.

Our very successful sports day along with our sister school took place in Bushy Park today. With over 1100 boys and girls enjoying the fun activities, it is our largest event of the school calendar. It was very competitive on the back yard on Wednesday for the teacher v student obstacle course. Both the boys and girls school teachers and boys and girls joined forces to try be crowned champion. As expected, after a rocky start, the teachers prevailed.

St. Pius X NS school yard was a hive of activity this morning as the boys and girls school combined for a mega Wake Up Shake Up, with over 1000 children on the yard and the music on full volume, not only were the boys and girls up and alert but some of the neighbours were probably as well. Well
