We are delighted to unveil our new school mural, created in collaboration with professional artist Shane Ha as part of the BLAST Arts in Education Programme. The project provided a wonderful opportunity for our students to express their creativity and work alongside a talented artist to bring their ideas to life.
We are especially grateful to our good friends in St Pius GNS for collaborating on the project and helping us create something truly outstanding.
The idea of the mural is to give the children “a sense of time and place” and to support our Local Studies Field Trips, which form part of the new Social and Environmental Studies curriculum. The mural celebrates the Schools’ Jubilee and places us firmly between the neighbouring villages of Templeogue and Terenure, four miles from the GPO to be exact!
With references to St Pius X Church, Bushy Park and Guide Dogs Ireland, we hope the mural will brighten everyone’s day for many years to come and give our students a strong sense of belonging, pride and connection to their local community.
