Mr. Dillon’s class began ‘The Crocus Project’ today learning all about the Holocaust. The boys planted crocus bulbs in memory of all the children who died. Mr. Dillon’s young architects and engineers were busy competing to design and build the tallest tower they could from using only spaghetti, marshmallows and tape. They researched famous towers throughout the world for inspiration and enjoyed the challenge. Well done to our winners- Charlie, Fionn, Harry and Harry!

The boys in Ms Redmond’s 6th class had a science competition to see who could make the longest paper chain using only ONE a4 piece of paper. The winners were Ben  and Finn  with a length of 5m 25cm. Matt in Ms Pleamonn’s class composed a poem titled “My Monsters”. He read his poem for the class and it now is center stage on our schools Young Writers noticeboard. Well done Matt!!

We are so proud of Cody in Mr. Flaherty’s Class who, last weekend achieved a Gold Medal at the Sport Ireland National Indoor Arena. He competed in the pommel, parallel bars, high bar, rings, floor and vault. We know we will be seeing his talent representing Ireland at future Olympics to come. The boys in Ms Dunne’s class got down and dirty this week undertaking a number of experiments as part of St. Pius X Science Week 2021. As you can see from the photos, the boys had a great time investigating how liquids effect solids and how food colouring is used on some of our favourite treats.

Ms Pleamonn’s boys have been working hard the last few weeks inside and outside the classroom. Although it may be Winter, the boys were busy planting bulbs to ensure St Pius X  has a colourful Spring. The boys were very thankful to receive the daffodils, tulips and an array of other bulbs. As part of the Over the Moon programme, the boys in Mr. Smyth’s Class have been doing persuasive writing. Each boy put forward arguments for installing water fountains in the yard. Mr Smyth was so impressed he sent 3 boys up to Mr. Coyle to make their arguments. Luke, Matthew and Eoin made some very persuasive arguments.
