The boys in Ms. Stewart’s class were enjoying their aistear last week, working in the kitchen. As a treat, the boys made doggy buns and enjoyed the fruits of their labour for lunch.

The boys in 5th and 6th class were visited this week by our local community Garda, Garda Brendan. The boys got a lesson in Crime Scene investigations and the importance of DNA and fingerprints. With our new Garda recruits and a couple of burglars, we got to see the whole process in action. Thanks again to Garda Brendan for visiting.

27 scientists were very busy this week in Junior Infants – Launching lollipop sticks, building bridges, guessing which toys would float or sink, watching raisins dance and scaring glitter germs away with soap!! What an eventful week.

Christian in Ms. Brogan’s 1st class brought in his impressive medal haul, which he won at the weekend at the SKIF Ireland KANAZAWA Cup which was held in Tallaght on Sunday. Christian won his medals in 3 different categories. Well done Christian

The US mid term elections may have made national headlines this week but there was a more important election taking place in St. Pius X BNS. With nominations, canvassing and some very lively debates, the Student Council was formed with boys from 3rd to 6th class being elected by their peers to represent their classes and bring forward important school

Alex  from Ms. Robinson’s Junior Infants wore his 1st place sash that he was awarded after dancing a Slip Jig and Reel. Well done, Alex!

Just before the Halloween break, Ms. Robinson’s class released the butterflies that they had been observing and looking after for a number of weeks. We were all sad to say goodbye but happy that they can begin their new adventure!

The boys in Ms. Robinson’s Junior Infants had their first Spooky Halloween in St. Pius X with some great costumes. The boys also had a spooky trail around the school yard. Mr. Coyle was so afraid of all the ghouls and goblins that he kept away from their class for the day.
